About SB Ski & Snowboard Club

The SB Ski and Snowboard Club is one of the largest and most successful social organizations at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Since the early ‘70s, the club has been giving Gauchos the opportunity to get up to the slopes for as cheap as humanly possible, hooking up deals with awesome sponsors, and providing fun all year long! Throughout the year the Club hosts several trips to various mountains in California, along with other clubs from other UC campuses. In addition, we host social gatherings and events in Santa Barbara throughout the entire year, even after all the snow has melted away.

We start out the year with a bang with our FALL KICK OFF RALLY! This year it will be on OCTOBER 1st in STORKE PLAZA at 8PM. At the rally we have crazy competitions and hook it up with tons of free shwag from our sponsors. Following the Rally is our Kick Off Social Gathering. During Fall Quarter, the club hosts Socials every Thursday night at various locations throughout Isla Vista.

At the end of Fall Quarter during the first week of winter break is our largest trip of the year, the ALL CAL! This aint no sissy trip, it’s a weeklong extravaganza that brings kids from all the University of California clubs together for a week of riding and fun competitions. Last year nearly 800 college kids congregated on Fernie, BC and this year we are doing it again in WHITEFISH, MONTANA!!! Make sure to sign up early because this trip will sell out faster than President Alex Shlyakhov can pound a beverage (if you know Alex that’s pretty damn fast). WINTER QUARTER is all about the WEEKEND TRIPS. We make several trips to Mammoth Mountain and Lake Tahoe. Our two largest trips, SOCAL and NORCAL, are sorta like mini-ALL CALS, complete with competitions among the UC clubs. The prices on these trips vary from trip to trip, but we guarantee we keep the cost as low as possible!

In SPRING QUARTER, we start to cry as the snow melts away and the season comes to an end. But don't get too sad because the Ski and Snowboard Club is still around throwin the occasional social gathering every now and then. These are sure to make you happy again! We end the year with a bang just as it started with our annual JELLO WRESTLING competition. Make sure to stay tuned for details all year long!
